While rushing through the hallway, they accidentally bump into Renji Kurose, a quiet and socially awkward classmate. Their brief conversation reveals that Renji has a dry sense of humor despite being uncomfortable around people.  At lunch, the protagonist spends time with their friends Maya, Kai, and Yuna. Renji is noticed sitting alone, giving the protagonist the opportunity to approach him. Depending on the player's choice, they can begin getting closer to Renji, spend time with their friends, or seek out Haruto Minase, another student who can become a second love interest.  After school, the protagonist encounters Renji again and discovers that he knits and sews, something he normally keeps secret because he's embarrassed about it. If the protagonist chooses to walk home with him, Renji slowly reveals more about himself, including that he plays violin.  Haruto, meanwhile, has a more relaxed and confident dynamic with the protagonist. Spending time with him reveals that he also has a guarded side, suggesting that he has secrets of his own.  The act ends that night with the protagonist thinking about both boys. Depending on the player's choices, either Renji or Haruto sends them a message, establishing the beginning of the two potential relationships.  Main idea of Act 1: The protagonist's normal school life begins to change as they start noticing that the people around them—especially Renji and Haruto—have much more going on beneath the surface than they initially realize.
